The solid wood frame and multi-ply birch front face are all stained and sealed for durability... The slides are "soft close" so the front face won't slam down when closing the box. Foam insert allows for roughly 2" of depth to mount anything you'd like to conceal and comes as a solid sheet that you trim to fit your goodies...
